Moonraker Charters offers a range of educational and inspiring snorkelling activities focusing on developing snorkelling techniques and confidence within the spectacular marine environment of Port Phillip Bay.

Introductory Pool Snorkel

A fun skill building program involving snorkelling techniques whilst learning the importance of water safety. Our teaching methods provide students with the basic understanding of snorkelling all within a controlled familiar pool environment.

Student benefit from the knowledge and experience offered by our skilled instructors, providing students with the skills to advance from beginner to confident snorkelers, whilst fostering the students strengths and working on weaknesses.

The ‘pool program’ includes a verbal briefing and presentation on snorkelling equipment and safety measures around different bodies of water, followed by a structured activities and learning the skills of snorkelling, basic rescue skills followed by fun and interactive games.


Beginner Beach snorkel

There’s no better way to advance your snorkel skills and confidence the in a variety of environmental conditions. An extension upon the ‘pool program’ further developing students snorkelling techniques and developing confidence into open water environment.

Our qualified instructors will help students discover a diverse range of underwater life such as Weedy Sea Dragons, Stingrays and a range of fish species. Ensuring students have developed a strong understanding of water safety, risk identification and moderate to confident snorkelling skills.

This activity includes a verbal briefing on snorkel equipment, marine life habitats and adaptions, safety measures around water and the difference between the environment and ecosystems.


Advanced Beach Snorkel

This is a fabulous way of expanding students prior water confidence and expand into coastal snorkeling. Students will have hands on opportunities to discover and later identify our diverse underwater ecosystems whilst improving their skills and general water confidence.

Our qualified and skilled dive instructors teach the safe practice and use of snorkeling equipment, whilst making the experience fun and educational. A strong focus is placed on developing students technique and skills enabling them to dive below the surface and snorkel safety in a range of conditions. We include a high level of identification and discovery into underwater life such as Weedy Sea Dragons, Stingrays, and a range of flora and fauna species.

Curriculum topics that are covered in this activity are ecosystems, environmental changes, habitats, adaptions and marine life of a Weedy Sea Dragon our Victorian emblem.
